AppleはWWDC23の基調講演の中で、次期Mac用OS「macOS 14 Sonoma」を発表するとともに、このSonomaではPostScriptやEPSファイルをPDFへ変換するCoreGraphicsの「CGPSConverter」を廃止すると発表しました。
macOS has removed the functionality for converting PostScript and EPS files to PDF format. As a result, CoreGraphics’ CGPSConverter returns an error when invoked, ImageIO no longer converts EPS files, NSEPSImageRep does not display EPS files, and PMPrinterPrintWithFile does not accept a PostScript file for non-PostScript print queues. これにより、Macの印刷機能をWindows仮想マシン(VM)から利用していたParallels Desktopでは、macOS 14 Sonoma上のWindows VMで「PDFに印刷 (Macデスクトップ)」機能を実行するとファイルが空になる、プリンター共有を利用すると「PostScriptファイルを変換…」で印刷が止まる問題が生じ、共有印刷機能が役に立たなくなっていましたが、

Parallels International GmbH.は現地時間2023年08月21日にリリースした仮想化ソフトウェア「Parallels Desktop v19.0.0 for Mac」で、Windows VMとの共有印刷機能を再設計し、新たにIPP(Internet Printing Protocol)を利用した印刷機能を実装したそうです。
In macOS Sonoma 14, the software module CGPSConverter that converts PostScript files was removed from macOS. As a result, the Shared Printing feature became useless, as it was using this module to allow printing from Windows via printers shared from Mac.[…]As a response, our engineers re-engineered the Shared Printing feature to use Internet Printing Protocol (IPP) which is the most popular printing method nowadays.

これにより、Parallels Desktop v19 for MacのWindows VMでは「印刷前にページ設定オプションを表示する」機能は利用できないものの、共有印刷機能はこれまで通り利用できるようになっており、PDFに印刷については「Microsoft Print to PDF」を利用するという対処方法が示されているので、macOS 14 SonomaでWindows VMからの印刷を行う方は確認してみてください。
おまけ
macOS 14 SonomaでPostScriptやEPSをPDFに変換するCGPSConverterが廃止されることで、MBS FileMaker/Xojo Plug-InもCGPSConverterを利用した機能に影響(エラー)が発生するそうなので、今後、その他のアプリやプラグインで問題が発生するかもしれません。
