　Googleは現地時間2023年01月09日、Google Drive用クライアント「Google Drive for desktop v69.0」をリリースするとともに、昨年末から案内していたとおり同バージョンで、macOS 10.15.6 CatalinaおよびWindows 7以前のMac/PCのサポートを終了したと発表しています。

　Googleは今後もGoogle Drive desktopを利用したい場合は、MacおよびPCをmacOS 10.15.7 Catalina*またはWindows 8以降へアップグレードすることを勧めており、加えてGoogle Workspaceではクライアントサイド暗号化をサポートし、Google Drive for desktopのローカルフォルダを暗号化してアップロードできることが可能になっているそうなので、Workspaceユーザーの方はチェックしてみてください。

Google Drive v69.0は2022年07月までセキュリティサポートが続いていたmacOS 10.15.7 Catalinaへは引き続きインストール可能で、アップデートのロールアウトは数日掛けて行われます。
