　米Microsoftは現地時間2019年03月28日、Office 365ブログを更新し来月のInsiderアップデートでWordおよびExcel、PowerPointのドキュメントの中にアニメーション化された3Dモデルを挿入できる機能を追加し来月以降ロールアウトを開始すると発表しています。

Improve comprehension and retention, increase engagement, and entertain audiences with content that seemingly comes to life. Select scenes and insert 3D models from a vast library of free content and rotate 3D objects to tell your story from every angle. 3D objects on Mac will start rolling out to Insiders next month.

3Dモデルのシステム要件

　3Dモデルおよびアニメーション化された3Dモデルの挿入(3D embedded animations)機能を利用できるのはmacOS 10.12 Sierra/macOS 10.13.4 High Sierra以降のmacOSで、OS X 10.11 El CapitanやmacOS 10.13.3 High Sierraなどでは非対応となっているそうです。

　3DモデルはRemix 3Dからのダウンロードが必要ですが、教育やサイエンス、動植物、SurfaceやXboxなどのMicrosoft製品、Microsoftが買収したMinecraftの3Dモデルが利用できるようになっています。
