　Red Sweater SoftwareがWordPressをサポートしたMac用ブログエディタ「MarsEdit v5.2.6」をリリースしています。詳細は以下から。

　元Appleのソフトウェアエンジニアで、現在はRed Sweater Softwareを設立しMacやiPhoneアプリを開発されているDaniel Jalkutさんは現地時間2024年09月29日、同社が2003年から開発しているMac用ブログエディタ「MarsEdit」の最新バージョンとなる「MarsEdit v5.2.6」をリリースし、macOS 15 Sequoiaに対応したと発表しています。

　MarsEdit v5.2.6では、macOS 15 Sequoiaでタグ欄にマウスをホバーするとアプリがクラッシュする不具合などが修正される一方、AppleがmacOS 15 Sequoiaで禁止したOption + 文字キーやOption + Shift + 文字キーをショートカットキーに設定しようとすると、以下のような警告が表示されるようになっています。

Shortcut Assignment Failed
This shortcut was not accepted by the system. Some versions of macOS do not allow shortcuts without certain modifier keys such as Command or Control as part of the shortcut. Try another key combination.

MarsEdit v5.2.6より

　Option + 文字キーやOption + Shift + 文字キーの組み合わせのショートカットキーに関しては、Appleがこれを仕様だと回答して以降、ランチャーアプリrcmdなどでもユーザーに(不具合でないと)周知してもらえるよう警告を出す動きが増えているので、今後多くのアプリが追従しそうです。

現在のところ、Option+文字キーによるショートカットキーが利用できなくなっているのはMac App Storeで配布されているSandbox化されたアプリで、Accessibility PermissionsやInput Monitoringなどを利用しているアプリは問題ありませが、いつまで許可されるかは不明です。
