macOS Monterey 12.3 Beta Release Notes – Apple Developer

Beta版にアクセスした開発者によると、macOS 12.3 MontereyではPython 2.7の代わりに使用が推奨されている「Python 3.x」も同梱されていないようです。

　macOSのスクリプト言語に関してAppleは、2019年にリリースしたmacOS 10.15 CatalinaからPython 2.xの使用を非推奨として、代わりにPython 3.xを利用するように開発者に通知し、将来的にはスクリプト言語のランタイムを同梱せずダウンロード方式にすると発表。

　既にPython 3コマンドを利用しようとするとAppleのCommand Line Toolsに同梱されているPython 3をダウンロードするように既に仕様が変更されていますが、macOS 12.3 Montereyでも、この仕様に変更はなく、Pythonはphp同様macOS Montereyから姿を消すことになりそうです。

おまけ

　Python自体は既にPython 3.8以降でIntel(x86_64)とApple Silicon(arm64)をサポートしており、インストーラーもPython 3.9.1以降でUniversal Binaryバージョンが公開されているため、開発環境にはあまり大きな影響はないと思われます。
