Googleは現地時間2021年12月08日、同社のクラウドストレージサービスGoogle Driveのデスクトップ・クライアント「Google Drive for Desktop」の最新バージョンとなるv54.0のロールアウトを開始し、同バージョンでOS X 10.11 El CapitanとmacOS 10.12 Sierraのサポートを終了したと発表しています。
Important : Drive for desktop has ended support for macOS 10.11 and 10.12. Please upgrade to a supported version (10.13 High Sierra or newer) to continue using Drive for Desktop.

これによりGoogle Drive for Desktop v54.0以降では最小システム要件がmacOS 10.13 High Sierra以降となり、macOS 10.12 Sierra以前ではセキュリティアップデートを含めた全てのアップデートが受け取れないようになっているので、まだ古いmacOS/OS Xをお使いの方は注意してください。

- Added a notification for Windows users if security update KB4474419 is not installed.
