　カナダのAgileBitsは現地時間2020年02月12日、同社が開発しているパスワード管理アプリ「1Password for iOS」をバージョン7.4.5へアップデートし、新たにウェーデンのYubico社が販売するFIDO U2F認証に準拠したセキュリティキーYubikeyのNFCシリーズに対応したと発表しています。

1Password now supports two-factor authentication using your YubiKey via Near Field Communication (NFC).

　YubikeyのNFCセキュリティキーは、現在のところSecurity Key NFC by YubicoとYubiKey 5 NFCが対応しており、どちらもUSB Type-AポートとNFCを採用していますが、Yubicoは今後USB Type-CポートとNFCをサポートした「YubiKey 5C NFC」を2020年Q1に発売すると発表しています。

　また、リリースノートには記載がありませんが、YubicoのYubikey NFCをサポートするのは、AppleがサードパーティアプリにNFC(Core NFC)の利用を許可したiOS 13以降を搭載したiPhone 7以降のデバイスで、iOS 12やiPhone 6ではNFCのオプションが表示されず、1Password for Androidも今月のアップデート(v7.4)で、USBとNFCのセキュリティキーをサポートしているそうなので、ユーザーの方はチェックしてみてください。
