　Appleは日本時間2025年06月10日午前02時から、毎年恒例となった世界開発者会議(WWDC25)の基調講演を開催し、Mac用の次期「macOS 26 Tahoe」を発表しましたが、このmacOS 26はIntel Macをサポートする最後のmacOSになるようです。

　これは基調講演に続いて行われたPlatforms State of the Unionの中で、Appleのシニアディレクターを務めるMatthew Firlikさんが発言しているもので、Firlikさんによると、Appleは5年前の2020年からMacのプロセッサをIntelからApple Siliconへ移行しており、

最新のApple Intelligenceやゲームモード、プレゼンターオーバーレイなどはIntel Macではサポートされず、Apple Siliconにより初めて利用できる機能で、Appleは2年前に全MacのラインナップをApple Siliconへ移行しているとして、開発者に対し、まだユーザーにIntelアプリを利用させている場合は、今がApple Siliconアプリへ移行させる絶好のチャンスで、

今後は開発資源をApple Siliconへ集中させるとコメントしているので、Intel Macを利用しているユーザーの方は、macOS 26 Tahoeのセキュリティサポートが終了する3年後までにApple Silicon Macへの買い替えを行った方がよさそうです。
