翻訳機能を組み合わせた通話アプリNaviでApple Design Awards 2022を受賞したGood SnoozeのJordi Bruinさんは、同社が開発するOpenAIの音声認識モデルWhisperを利用した文字起こしアプリ「Whisper Transcription/MacWhisper (Gumroad版)」がバージョン9.14へアップデートされ、macOS 15 Sequoiaへ対応し、音声書き起こしのスピードが最大20%%向上したと発表しています。

また、Whisper Transcriptionは書き起こした音声をDeepLのAPIを利用し日本語など他の言語へ翻訳する機能が実装されていますが、Whisper Transcription v9.14では、DeepLとは別にAppelの翻訳機能(Translation API)がサポートされ、
言語ファイルをダウンロードするだけで、オンデバイスで音声書き起こししたテキストを日本語などに翻訳することが可能になっているので、DeepLアカウントをお持ちでない方も翻訳機能を利用することが可能になっています。

This translation happens on device, so none of your data will have to leave your device even if you are translating! Enable it from Settings > Translation and make sure your preferred languages are downloaded to your device.
