　オープンソースのCPUエミュレータQEMUを利用しIntel/Apple Silicon MacやiOSデバイス上で様々な仮想マシンを起動できる仮想化ソフトウェア「UTM」を開発していYuan Luさんらは現地時間2021年10月10日、仮想マシン(VM)のコントロールやインストールを自動で行えるURLスキームを追加した「UTM v2.3 for macOS/iOS」のBeta版を公開したと発表しています。

　UTMのURLスキームは”utm://downloadVM”から始まるURLをワンクリックするだけでVMのダウンロードを行い、UTMライブラリに追加、後は起動ボタンを押すだけでVMを起動できるため、VMのデプロイがより簡単になり、VMの起動やストップ、リスタート、ポーズ、レジュームパラメーターも用意されています。

　また、同じくUTM v2.3ではVMへの入力をリリースするショートカットキーCtrl+Altの代わりに、Command+Optionが使えるようになっており、閉じるボタンでVMを終了する際に確認アラートを表示するなど、UTM for macOSで多くの改善がされているので、ユーザーの方はチェックしてみてください。
