　PSWDはQRコードジェネレーター/リーダーQrafterシリーズを開発しているKerem Erkanさんが2020年に開発したパスワードジェネレーターアプリで、2006年にDavid KreindlerさんがPPC/Intel Mac向けに開発した「PRG (Random Password Generator)」が32-bitアプリのサポートを終了したmacOS Catalina以降で動かなくなったために開発されたそうですが、PSWD初のメジャーアップデートとなる「PSWD 2.0 for macOS/iOS」が新たにリリースされています。

PSWD – Password Generator is a free utility app for iOS 13 or later and macOS 10.10 or later. It can generate strong random passwords with very comprehensive settings. It is written using Swift programming language. The app was inspired by RPG written by David Kreindler. I used that app from 2006 to 2019 extensively, but it looks to be abandoned and will not work with future versions of macOS.

　PSWDはSwiftで開発され最新のmacOS/iOSをサポートし、パスワードの文字数はもちろん、Uppercase/Lowercase lettersやDigits, Symbols数などmacOSのパスワードジェネレーター「パスワードアシスタント」より複雑な設定が可能で、

PSWD 2.0では新たにユーザーが指定した文字や記号を含める”include other”オプションが追加され、Include/Exclueのテキストフォールドに入力した文字がオプションを有効/無効にしても削除されないようになったほか、macOSとiOSアプリで作成したパスワード設定のプリセットを別々に保存/読み込めるようになっています。

　PSWDのシステム要件はOS X 10.10 Yosemite/iOS 13以上のMac/iPhone, iPadで利用可能で、アプリが気に入ったらアプリ内課金で紅茶を奢れる様になっているので、興味のある方は試してみてください。
