　Appleは現地時間2019年03月25日に開催したスペシャルイベント「It’s show time.」の中で、AppleのNewsアプリを通して月額9.99ドルの定額制雑誌購読サービス「Apple News +(プラス)」を本日よりアメリカとカナダで開始すると発表しましたが、このサービスはApple IDのリージョンで制限されているようです。

Apple News +

　AppleはmacOS 10.14 MojaveにiOSで先行して導入されていたApple Newsアプリを移植し、地域によっては隠しファイルとなっているものの全てmacOS Mojaveに同梱されていますが、一応確認してみたところ、macOS 10.14.4へアップデートしたMacのNewsアプリにはサイドメニューに「Apple News+」のメニューが追加されており、

ここからApple News+の購読ができるようになっていますが、購読しようとすると「This story isn’t currently available in your region.」というポップアップが表示され、別のiCloud(Apple ID)アカウントでApp Storeに再ログインするように求められたので、Apple IDの「地域(リージョン)」をアメリカとカナダで登録してあるユーザーの方ならばApple News+に登録できるようです。

　現在日本ではApple News+はもとより、Apple Newsサービスの開始もされていないので、日本でAppleの定額制雑誌購読サービスが利用できるようになるにはまだ時間がかかると思われますが、ゲームのサブスクリプションサービス「Apple Arcade」については2019年秋にも150カ国以上で提供が開始されるそうなので、日本でも利用可能になると思われます。
