MicrosoftはAppleが2017年10月27日に行ったスペシャルイベント「hello again」の中で、「Office for Mac」がTouch Barをサポートすることを発表していましたが、2017年02月01日に公開されたInsider Fast版でTouch Barからの操作が利用可能になったようです。

また、Microsoft Office Extensibility teamのHumberto Lezamaさんによると、02月01日に公開されたOffice 2016 for MacのWord, Excel, PowerPoint build 170124以降ではAdd-ins機能のリボンUI統合が開始されるそうです。
現在のところ、リボンUIに統合されているのは一部のAdd-inだけのようですが、興味のある方は[アドイン] → [ストア]から既にリボンUIに統合された以下のAdd-inをチェックしてみてください。
