昨日、別のMacにmacOS SierraをインストールしてみたところAppleが現地時間2016年12月13日にリリースしたmacOS Sierra 10.12.2 Build 16C67 と違うBuild “16C68″が割当てられていたので調べてみたところ、AppleはmacOS Sierra 10.12.1や10.12.2で複数のBuildをリリースしているそうです。
- 2016年09月20日：macOS Sierra 10.12 (Build 16A323) – 正式リリース🎉
- 2016年10月24日：macOS Sierra 10.12.1 – 正式リリース🎉
- 2016年12月13日：macOS Sierra 10.12.2 – 正式リリース🎉
- Build 16C67 → 16C68
カスタム・デプロイ用DMG作成アプリ”AutoDMG”の開発者Tim Suttonによると、AppleはOS X LionやMountain Lionで追加アップデートを含んだインストーラや特定のMac用のインストーラーをリリースした際にそのOS Xに別のBuild番号を割当てていたそうですが、これがmacOS Sierraでも適用されているそうです。

However, what’s happened several times (for Lion, Mountain Lion, and especially lately with Sierra’s updates) is that Apple silently bumps the installer build number for the same point update version. This has happened with 10.12.1, and just yesterday (December 15, 2016) with 10.12.2. The updated builds for 10.12.1 were 16B2657 moving to 16B2659, and 10.12.2 went from 16C67 to 16C68.

また、Pepijn Bruienneさんによると、macOS Sierra 10.12.2 Build 16C67とBuild 16C68はライセンスファイルやセットアップアシスタント、AppleACPIPlatform.kext, OpenCL.frameworkなどの一部が変更されているそうで、

ほとんどのユーザーはこの変更による大きな影響はないと思われますが、システム管理者やmacOSのBuild番号までを指定してアプリのインストーラーを作成している開発者の方々は対応を迫られているようです。
