　Appleは2019年10月にリリースしたmacOS 10.15 Catalinaで、32-bitアプリやミュージックプレイヤーiTunes、そしてMac OS X 10.4 Tigerで導入したHTMLやCSS、JavaScriptベースのウィジェットを表示できる「Dashboard (ダッシュボード)」を廃止ししましたが、このDashboardを最新のmacOSで再現した「Widgets」アプリがMac App Storeでリリースされています。

　WidgetsをリリースしたJustin HuntさんはTiger時代のDashbaordをベースにウィジェットを一から作り直したそうで、ユーザーがウィジェットを開発したり、古い.wdgtファイルをロードする機能はありませんが、天気予報(Weather)と世界時計(World Clock)、連絡(Address Book)、カレンダー(Calendar)、電卓(Calculator)、単位変換器(Unit Converter)、そして付箋(Sticky Notes)ウィジェットが利用できるようになっています。

　Widgetsアプリのシステム要件はmacOS 13.3 Ventura以降のIntel/Apple Silicon Macで、Mac App Storeに無料で公開されているので、Dashboard機能が懐かしい方は試してみて下さい。
