　Broadcomが仮想マシンを長時間実行するとメモリ使用率が徐々に上昇する不具合や脆弱性を修正した無料の仮想化アプリ「VMware Fusion Pro 25H2u1」をリリースしています。詳細は以下から。

　米Broadcomは現地時間2024年11月、2023年に買収したVMware Inc.が開発するMac上でWindowsやmacOS、Linux仮想マシンを作成＆実行できる仮想化ソフトウェア「VMware Fusion/Workstation」シリーズを、教育用はもちろん、個人用や商用を問わず全てのユーザーに無償で提供すると発表しましたが、このVMware Fusionシリーズの最新バージョンとなる「VMware Fusion Pro 25H2u1」が新たにリリースされています。

　昨年10月にリリースされたVMware Fusion Pro 25H2では、vmxファイルやユーザー設定を変更できるコマンドラインツール”dictTool”が追加され、USB 3.2やmacOS 26 Tahoe (Intelのみ)、Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10、Fedora Linux 42仮想マシンなどのサポートが行われていましたが、

VMware Fusion Pro 25H2u1では、仮想マシンを長時間実行するとメモリ使用量が徐々に増加する問題やRetina解像度の切替時にカーソルの動きが大きくなる/カーソル位置がずれる問題が修正され、仮想マシンの管理者権限があると他の仮想マシンの通信を妨害/傍受できてしまう脆弱性(CVE-2026-22715)が修正されたそうです。

　VMware Fusion Pro 25H2u1へのアップデートにはユーザー登録が必要ですが、引き続き無償で提供されているので、気になる方は公式サイトをチェックしてみてください。

VMware Fusion Pro 25H2u1

Running a VM increases the memory footprint overtime
Leaving a VM running might slowly increase the memory footprint of the VM. Also, resizing the window and drawing content to the screen might slowly increase the reserved memory that is used in rendering. This issue is resolved in this release.
When toggling the Full resolution for Retina display option in VM Display settings, the mouse cursor size increases
This issue is resolved in this release.
Mouse cursor pixel offset observed on multiple guest operating systems with retina and non-retina displays
