CiderTVはAIR Remoteと同様にRemoteアプリをエミュレートしており、同一Wi-Fi内にあるApple TVの設定アプリから[リモコンとデバイス] > [Remote App]でペアリングしてやることで、iOSやAndroidデバイスをRemoteアプリの様に利用できます。
iOSデバイスではAppleのRemoteアプリが利用できるので必要無いかもしれませんが、Android版はタップで選択、ロングタップでホームスクリーンへ、スワイプで移動機能やテキスト送信機能などAppleのRemoteアプリと同様の機能を提供してくれるので、興味がある方は利用してみてください。
