AppleはOS X 10.11 El Capitan Public Betaでシステム保護機能 RootlessのEA問題を修正し、サードパーティ製アプリでも起動ディスクのバックアップが可能になっているそうです。詳細は以下から。
先日”Carbon Copy Cloner”を開発しているBombich Softwareや”SuperDuper”のShirt Pocketが「OS X 10.11 El Capitan Developer Betaではcom.apple.rootless EAが存在するため、起動ディスクの正確なバックアップが作成できず、リストア後のパフォーマンスが低下する」と発表していましたが、

今月10日にリリースされたOS X 10.11 El Capitan Public BetaではAppleはこのEA制限を緩和しており、サードパーティ製バックアップアプリでも”com.apple.rootless”を消去せずバックアップを取ることが可能になっているそうです。

System Protection no longer disabled on copies!
Apple fixed the problem with copying the “com.apple.rootless” attribute in the Public Beta! So, with the release of our Beta 2 (download below), we’ve included the ability to copy with that EA preserved, and thus system protection is maintained on the copy as well. Plus, there’s no need to erase when restoring.

手元のバイナリを見てみると
El Capitan DP 3
10.11 Beta (15A216g)
Public Beta
10.11 Beta (15A215h)
なので、バージョン番号だけから見ると Public Beta の方が古いので、「EA制限を緩和」ではなく、”Public Beta” では実装されていなかった。というオチはないかな？

CCCのところにタイムライン書いてあるけど、最終的にDP3もセーフっぽいね。試してないけど。
まぁPBの方がリリースに近いから大丈夫じゃないかな？

・Apple makes the developer preview available to developers
・We download the developer preview and load it on a couple test systems
・We load up a new build of CCC that accommodates the basics of the new OS (the name, version) and put it through a series of basic challenges
・We resolve any showstoppers, and identify and document any other concerns (e.g. compatibility with new OS features)
