　Linux用のメディアプレイヤーmpvとffmpegをベースに、Mac独自の機能を追加したオープンソースのメディアプレイヤー「IINA」を開発するProject IINAは現地時間2026年09月04日、「IINA for Mac v1.5.0」のBeta 1をリリースしたと発表しています。

　米ジョージア工科大学の博士課程に在籍しIINAプロジェクトのメンテナーを務めるHechen Li(@lhc70000)さんによると、IINA v1.5.0はIINAリリース以来、最も大きくUIを刷新するそうで、まず設定ウィンドウが刷新され、ビデオとオーディオ設定の分割、新しいプラグインストア、キーバインド設定ファイルの削除時の確認プロンプトの追加、

そしてmacOS 26 Tahoe以降ではオンスクリーンディスプレイ(OSD)/コントローラー(OSC)、サイドバーがAppleのLiquid Glassデザインに適用します。

　また、設定ウィンドウを開かずにビデオやオーディオの設定を行えるクイック設定サイドバーにも新たにレイアウトペインが追加され、ウインドウの縦横比の変更、サイドバー、OSC、タイトルバーの結合が可能になり、サイドバーが上下のOSCをブロックしなくなっています。

　IINA for Mac v1.5.0ではmacOS 13 Ventura以降のMacで、AppleのVisionKitを利用したテキスト認識表示がサポートされ、一時停止中の動画内に表示されている文字を英語や日本語などに翻訳、またはコピー＆ペーストができるようになっています。
