米OpenAIは現地時間2026年08月20日、同社のAIモデルGPTシリーズの公式クライアント「ChatGPTデスクトップアプリ」をアップデートし、新たにAppleのメッセージアプリと連携できる「Apple Messages plugin」の提供を開始したと発表しています。
Use Apple Messages from Codex and ChatGPT Work. On Apple silicon Macs, the Apple Messages plugin in the ChatGPT desktop app can read and search iMessage, SMS, and RCS conversations and prepare or send messages through Messages.

Apple Messages pluginは、CodexとChatGPT WorkからAppleのメッセージアプリの内容を取得＆返信の作成や送信ができるプラグインで、セットアップはChatGPTデスクトップアプリの[プラグイン] → [Apple Messages]で検索し表示されたプラグインをインストールするだけで、

後はChatGPTのプロンプトで”@message”と入力すればAppleのメッセージアプリを通してiMessageやSMS、RCSのデータへアクセスし、既存のメッセージの検索や要約、返送の作成、メッセージの送信(ユーザーが承認が必要)を行うことができるので、CodexやChatGPT Workのタスク完了メッセージなどをAppleのメッセージアプリで受信したい方はチェックしてみて下さい。
