　macUSBはポーランドのKruszoneqさんが開発したOS X/macOS用インストーラ作成ツールで、リリース当初はApple Silicon Macで古いIntel Mac用のUSBインストールメディアを作成する機能が実装されていましたが、macUSB v2.2でLinuxとWindows 10/11のインストールメディア作成に対応し、さらに本日リリースされた「macUSB v2.4」ではレガシィなWindowsと現在Beta版のmacOS 27 Golden GateのUSBインストールメディアの作成に対応しています。

　macUSB v2.4では、Windows 10/11のUSBインストールメディアの作成に加え、レガシィなWindows Vista、Windows 7、Windows Server 2008 R2のUSBインストールメディア作成に対応し、Windows 8~Windows 10とWindows Server 2012 R2~Windows Server 2022で、BIOSまたはUEFIの起動モードを選択できるようになっています。

　また、macUSBにはmacOS/OS Xに限りAppleのサーバーからOSのインストールアプリをダウンロードし、USBインストールメディアを作成する機能がりますが、macUSB v2.4では現在Beta版のmacOS 27 Golden Gateのダウンロードと、USBインストールメディアの作成が可能になっています。

　この他、macUSB v2.4では、アプリケーションフォルダ内にあるmacOSインストーラーアプリの自動検出やIntel MacでmacOS 27 Golden Gateをダウンロードする前にmacOS 27はIntel Mac非対応だという事を知らせる通知機能などが実装されているので、Apple Silicon MacでIntel Macや古いPCを管理したい方はチェックしてみて下さい。
