　Wineを利用しEpicやGOG配信のWindowsゲームをMacでプレイできるようにする「Heroic Games Launcher」にAppleのGaming Port Toolkitダウンロード機能が追加されています。詳細は以下から。

　Heroic Games Launcher(以下、Heroic)は、Epic Games StoreやGOG Games、Amazon Prime Gamingなどで配信されているゲームタイトルを管理したり、Wineを利用しWindows専用ゲームをしmacOSやLinux上で動作できるようにしてくれるオープンソースプロジェクトですが、このHeroicがバージョン2.15.xアップデートでAppleの「Gaming Port Toolkit (GPTK)」のダウンロード＆管理機能を実装しています。

リリースノートより抜粋

　Heroicは昨年09月のHeroic v2.9.0アップデートで、ユーザーがインストールしたGPTKとCrossOverを利用し、Mac上でDirectX 12ゲームをプレイすることが可能になっていましたが、Heroic v2.15.xでは、更にWineマネージャーにGPTKのダウンロード＆管理機能が追加されています。

　HeroicでGPTKを利用するにはmacOS 14 Sonoma以上がインストールされたApple Silicon Macが必要ですが、より簡単にGPTKを導入し、MacでDirectX 11/12対応のWindowsゲームを試すことができるので、興味のある方は試してみてください。

GPTK2はAVX2命令セットがサポートされ、GPTK1.xより多くのゲームタイトルがプレイできるようになっていますが、全てのDX11/12ゲームを実行できるわけではありません。

Heroic 2.15.0 “Emeth”

It has been 4 months since Heroic’s last release, which is the longest time we’ve ever had between releases. Several reasons combined caused this long wait, but our team never stopped working on Heroic. As such, this release comes packed with new features and fixes.
