　Appleは日本時間2022年06月07日から開催している、世界開発者会議(WWDC22)の基調講演で次期Mac OS「macOS 13 Ventura」を発表し、同時に、このVenturaではシステム環境設定アプリがSwiftUIでiPadOSライクに刷新されることが発表されましたが、

WWDC22のセッション「What’s new in AppKit」によると、Appleは、これを機に、「システム環境設定 (System Preferences)」アプリの名前を他のOSと同じく「システム設定 (System Settings)」アプリへリネームするそうです。

In macOS 13 Ventura, the System Preferences app has taken on a whole new look, with a refreshed navigation scheme and all-new visual design. To align with the settings experience on our other operating systems, we’ve also renamed the app to System Settings.

What’s new in AppKit – Apple Developer

　また、これに合わせてアプリケーションの[環境設定…(Preferences…)]メニューも[設定…(Settings…)]メニューへ変更されるそうで、この変更はAppKitが自動的に行なってくれますが、一部のウィンドウやドキュメントは開発者/作成者がアップデートする必要があるので、アプリやサポートドキュメントなどを作成している方は注意してください。
