　YubicoがUSB-CとLightningコネクタを備えiPhoneやiPadでも利用可能なセキュリティキー「YubiKey 5Ci」を70ドルで発売しています。詳細は以下から。

　スウェーデンのYubico社は現地時間2019年08月20日、「Black Hat USA 2019」でアナウンスしていたとおりU2FやFIDO2/WebAuthn準拠の2段階認証用セキュリティキー「YubiKey 5」シリーズからUSB-CとLightningポートを備えた「YubiKey 5Ci」を新たに発売したと発表しています。

　公開されたパッケージを見る限りではYubiKey 5CiはAppleのMFi(Made for iPhone/iPad/iPod)を取得しているようですが、iOS 12では現在のところセキュリティキーをネイティブサポートしていないため、各アプリが独自にYubiKey 5Ciに対応する必要があり、Yubicoは昨年からDevelopment Kitを公開し、発売段階で1Password for iOSやBitwarden, Dashlane, Idaptive, LastPass, Oktaといったパスワードマネージャーがこれをサポートしたそうで、

ブラウザではJavaScriptの生みの親Brendan Eichさんが設立したBrave Softwareのオープンソースブラウザ「Brave」がサポートしているため、GitHub.comやBitbucket.org, Login.gov, Twitter.com, 1Password.comのログイン時の2段階認証キーとしても利用できるようになっています。

　YubiKey 5Ciの価格は70ドルで、通常版はブラックカラーですが現在は発売を記念してホワイトカラーの「YubiKey 5Ci – Launch Edition」も発売されており、Yubicoのオンラインショップで購入できますが、Made in USA & Swedenのためかアメリカ外からの注文は09月02日まで処理されないそうです。

YubiKey 5CiはiPadでも利用できますが、現在のところUSB-Cポートを搭載したiPad Pro (第3世代)はテスト要件に含まれていないた、一部の機能はUSB-Cポート搭載のiPad Proと互換性がないそうです(USB-Cポートを搭載したMacやWindows PC、Androidとは互換性があります)。
