The HandBrake Teamは現地時間2025年08月09日、MacやWindows/Linuxのクロスプラットフォームに対応したオープンソースの動画トランスコーダー「HandBrake v1.10.0」をリリースしたと発表しています。

HandBrake v1.10.0では、DiscordなどのオンラインソーシャルコミュニティやGmailなどメールサービスで動画を共有する際に最適なサイズが10MB以下で長さが30秒から2分までのH.264動画を作成できる「Social 10MB」がプリセットに追加されています。
Up to 1 minute of video in 10 MB or less, for sharing via online social communities such as Discord and email services such as Gmail. H.264 video (up to 540p60) and AAC stereo audio, in an MP4 container.

また、Mac版ではApple VideoToolboxによるAV1ハードウェアデコードやMetalアクセラレータ対応のRender Subフィルターがサポートされ、VideoToolbox利用時のCPU使用率が削減された他、エンコード完了まで動画ファイルをTime Machineのバックアップから除外するといった改善がなされているので、ユーザーの方はアップデートしてみてください。
