AppleはmacOS 12 MontereyをサポートしていないMacに、誤ってmacOS Montereyへのアップグレード通知を表示していた問題を修正したようです。詳細は以下から。
Appleは2022年01月、macOS 11 Big Sur以下のMacに対し、macOS 12 Montereyへのアップグレードを勧める「macOS Installer Notification」を配信しましたが、
その後、このmacOS Installer Notificationには「macOS MontereyをサポートしていないMacに対してもアップグレード通知を表示してしまう」という問題が確認され、ユーザーから苦情が出ていましたが、Appleは03月04日頃から、この問題を修正した「macOS Installer Notification 2.0 (16U2269)」を新たに公開したようです。
Now @Apple – I would love to upgrade my computer to macOS Monterey, but even though it is still super fast, this OS update isn’t availble for this model due to its age (MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013).

新たに配信が開始されたmacOS Installer Notificationでは、MontereyをサポートしていないMacを判別するInstallationCheckが追加され、2014年製のMacBook Pro(ID：MacBookPro11,x)やMacBook Air(MacBookAir6,x)、2021年製のMac mini (Macmini6,x)、2014年製のiMac(iMac15,x)などMonterey非サポートモデル(nonSupportedModels)の情報が追加されているので、今後はMontereyをサポートしたMacにのみアップグレード通知が表示されると思われます。
