Creative Commons Zero(以下、CC0)ライセンスの写真を掲載しているカナダのUnsplash Inc.は現地時間2021年11月24日、2017年に公開した同サイト掲載のCC0ライセンス写真をMacの壁紙に設定できる公式アプリ「Unsplash Wallpapers」をバージョン1.4.5へアップデートし、新たに写真のロケーション(位置情報)表示に対応したと発表しています。

Unsplash Wallpapers v1.4.5では新たに写真のメタタグに位置情報がある場合に限り、その場所の情報をアプリ上に表示してくれるようになっているので、コレクションに”Japan”や”Tokyo”などよく知った場所を設定しておくと、その場所の素晴らしい写真が毎日壁紙に設定されるので、興味のある方は利用してみてください。

ちなみに、Unsplash Inc.は今年03月、米Getty Images, Inc.に買収されたそうですが、運営は独立しており今まで通りのサービスを提供していくそうです。
