オープンソースでWindows, Mac, Linuxプラットフォームに対応した多機能イメージエディタGIMPを開発しているGIMP Development TeamのJehan(@ZeMarmot)さんは現地時間2021年07月28日、今年03月にリリースした「GIMP 2.10.24」のMac版のパッケージを新たに公開したと発表しています。
今年03月にリリースされたGIMP 2.10.24ではOff-canvas point snappingやMetadataのサポートなどが行われており、Mac版のDMGパッケージも数日後に公開されるとコメントされていましたが、Mac版はメンテナーとコントリビューターが少なく、JehanさんはMacなしでMac版を開発していたため公開に時間がかかったそうで、

新たに公開されたGIMP 2.10.24のパッケージ(アプリ)はAppleの公証を取得しGatekeeperにブロックされずに開けるようになっているので、GIMPユーザーの方はチェックしてみてください。

ちなみに、現在のところApple SiliconをネイティブサポートしたGIMPは公式にリリースされておらず、開発にはより多くのコントリビューターと時間が必要のようで、加えてGIMPプロジェクトはGIMPの安定した開発のために、GIMPプロジェクトに貢献してくれているØyvind KolåsとZeMarmotの2つのクラウドファンディングに資金を提供してあげて欲しいとコメントしているので、余裕のある方はチェックしてみてください。
I've only fixed our existing build (x86_64). Small tweaks but it still took me days. Working on a completely new arch for machines/OS I don't even own is no impossible feat but I would prefer if we had macOS contributors.
My time is better spent developing, fixing bugs, etc.
