　Appleは2016年9月、スペシャル・イベント「See you on the 7th.」でヘッドホンジャックを廃止したiPhone 7の発表とともに、Apple W1チップを搭載したワイヤレスイヤホン「AirPods」を10月下旬に発売すると発表しましたが、TechCrunchによるとこのAirPodsの発売が遅れる可能性があるようです。

“The early response to AirPods has been incredible. We don’t believe in shipping a product before it’s ready, and we need a little more time before AirPods are ready for our customers,” an Apple spokesperson told TechCrunch.

　TechCrunchのライターPanzarinoさんはAppleの広報から「AirPodsには早くから反響を頂いています。我々は準備ができる前にお客様に製品を出荷することは良いとは思えませんし、その準備にはもう少し時間がかかります。」というコメントを得たそうで、

Some folks who have had them early, as noted by Eduardo Arcos, have reported seeing some physical issues, though I have not seen anything like that myself.

Appleはハードウェアおよびソフトウェアどちらの準備が遅れているかや明確な発売日には明言しなかったそうですが、既に一部のメディアレビュアーに届いているAirPodsもまだ製品版には至っていないようなので、AirPodsの発売にはもう少し時間がかかりそうです。
