Appleは本日、開発者向けにmacOS 10.12 SierraおよびiOS 10などを公開しましたが、AppleはこれらのOSで100以上の絵文字を再デザイン、または追加するとNewsroomを通じて発表しています。
Cupertino, California — August 1, 2016 — More than one hundred new and redesigned emoji characters will be available to iPhone and iPad users this fall with iOS 10. This exciting update brings more gender options to existing characters, including new female athletes and professionals, adds beautiful redesigns of popular emoji, a new rainbow flag and more family options.

今回の絵文字アップデートは主に今年7月に承認された女性のアスリーや女性の専門家, 家族のオプションが追加されていますが、同様の理由からうさぎ耳にレオタードを着た女性の絵文字（英名:Woman With Bunny Ears, 和名:バニーガール）も男性の(バニーボーイ?)絵文字が追加されており、

加えて、既存の絵文字のテクスチャなどが変更されています。また、9to5Macによると今回のアップデートでは今年6月に制定されたUnicode 9.0の絵文字は含まれていないそうです。
