　Mac用ストレージユーティリティ「DaisyDisk」のデザインをコピーしたアプリ「DiskPoint」がリリースされ話題になっています。詳細は以下から。

　Macのストレージ使用量や占有率を把握できるユーティリティとしてウクライナのSoftware Ambience Corp.が開発し、The Best of Mac App Store 2015などを受賞した「DaisyDisk」がありますが、このDaisyDiskのデザインとUIをそのまま模倣したアプリ「DiskPoint」がリリースされ話題になっています。

　DiskPointを公開したのはDuskbay LLC.のIvan Lebedev(BuildingLeading1273)さんで、Macに対応し無料で使えるストレージユーティリティをQtとC++で開発しているとRedditに投稿し、今後WindowsとLinuxにも対応する予定なのでフィードバックをくださいとコメントしていますが、

It’s built with Qt and C++, with bits of native code here and there. It allows you to visualize what takes up space of your drives and it works with any storage your system can read. The app has no telemetry, quite frankly it has no internet capabilities at all, including no automatic updates.

デザインやUIが、ほぼDaisyDiskと同じなため、Redditユーザーからはあからさまなコピーで問題がありそうというコメントや、Trim Enablerなどを開発するスウェーデンのCindori ABのOskar GrothさんはAIを利用し既存のアプリの完璧なクローンが作り出され始めているというコメントを投稿しています。

I’ve already seen that Reddit thread. I agree with you that this app is a literal rip-off of DaisyDisk, and no, it was in no way authorized by our team, nor related to our team. Its author has not only used some general, publicly available concepts (such as the sunburst map, found in many applications), but they have literally and mindlessly copied all bits of DaisyDisk’s design – layouts, colors, interactions, animations etc.
