PineappleはNVIDAのNathan Whiteheadさんが開発したIPythonのMac用フロントエンドアプリで、Webブラウザを利用するIPython Notebookとは異なり、wxWidgetsを利用しMacのネイティブアプリとして実行することが出来ます。
The classic IPython notebook interface uses a web browser for the user interface. Pineapple controls are native to the operating system for a consistent, integrated experience.

PineappleはMac用ネイティブアプリとしてパッケージ化されていますが、g++-4.9コンパイラーとwxWidgetsなどをインストールすればUbuntuでもbuildすることが可能だそうです。使い方については[File]メニューの[Example]に詳しく記載されており、実行結果のPython,HTML,Markdownへの書出し、キーボードショートカットなども利用可能です。
