Googleが次期OS Xのコードネームとなっているヨセミテ国立公園にある一枚岩”El Capitan”のストリートビューをGoogle Mapsで公開しています。詳細は以下から。
今回Googleが公開したストリートビューは垂直ストリートビュー”Vertical Street View”と呼ばれ、El Capitanの岸壁に挑戦するクライマーのLynn HillさんとAlex Honnoldさん、Tommy CaldwellさんをGoogleのストリートビューチームが追う形で撮影されており、
Today we’re launching our first-ever vertical Street View collection, giving you the opportunity to climb 3,000 feet up the world’s most famous rock wall: Yosemite’s El Capitan. To bring you this new imagery, we partnered with legendary climbers Lynn Hill, Alex Honnold and Tommy Caldwell.

全長3,000 feet（約 0.91km）の行程を数日かけ360度パノラマ画像なども撮影しながら進み、クライミングルートはEl Capitanの南西壁と南東壁の境目である突端の”The Nose“を通っています。
Then, we really put Alex to work to collect the second set of Street View: the entire vertical route of “The Nose” on El Capitan.
One of the few people that could do this efficiently and quickly, Alex took the camera and pretty much ran 3,000 feet up with photographer partner Brett Lowell.
